Following its successful bid for 2008 Olympics, the municipal government has determined to ease its water shortage and make the water cleaner with increasing investment. In the next 4 to 5 years, US $2.89 billion will be invested in a number of projects to solve the water shortage in Beijing and its surrounding areas.
